I spoke with a friend who is currently still a relay operator, and he told me that MCI Memphis operators, now have assigned seats. What the fuck? Could management make it any more obvious that they think you're little children? As if all the "employee appreciation" bullshit didn't give it away. Let me know when report cards come out. I doubt any of you will be getting a gold star.

It's true. Though I can honestly say I don't mind it. EVERY SINGLE DAY i would come in and rush to find a seat THEN find a chair because and a few times i've logged in a minute late (oooooo..)

So anyway, yeah, I'm actually GLAD for the new arrangement, besides I can now decorate my little area

Fucking XXXXXX  I hate that stupid XXXXXXXXX piece of shit. It was her fucking idea that we have fucking assigned seating. I fucking hate it. Everytime I try to decorate my cubicle I come back with it taken down. I'm like well what's the fucking point! I'm pissed because i hate where i'm sitting. I feel like a little kindergardner. I already have to pretty much be walked to the bathroom. Next thing you know we won't be able to go to the bathroom! Or we'll have chains on our ankles with a ball around it

I would be OUTRAGED if we had assigned seats.  I don't know if the other Verizon centers are doing this or not, but I had my little favorite cube, and my little 'group' of friends that always sat together.  It was fairly easy to keep our 'seats' due to the time of day we started work.  But if they stuck me next to someone I didn't know, or someone I felt like I couldn't trust, due to my extra curricular activities, I'd be PISSED!

Which begs the question... are they trying to separate certain people from eachother in Memphis?  I know that in my group of operators, we 'worked together' in trying to stop scams.  I don't need to detail how we did that, but it was a rather well-run system we had going.  I wonder if the reason behind the assigned seating was to break up those little clusters of operators working together in the scam busting,   What was the reason they gave for doing this?

I may be your operator, but I am NOT your bitch!

No clue ya know, I just got there :/ all I know is when I started each and every day i would have to sit in a different spot because there would always be someone sitting in the spot I was in the previos day. So, to me, its not a bad thing. But, whatever.

Boy do some of these posts bring back memories! My old center in Rhode Island didn't have assigned seats, but most people sat in a certain area every day.  There were times (early on when we had a lot of people, or Monday Afternoons), when it was very hard to find a seat.  There was some open hostility (Why are you in MY seat?) when no such seats were assigned.

There are two sides to this issue.  The good thing is that you don't have to come in wondering where you'll be sitting, and not have to worry about some asshole taking down your things.  The other side is that you feel you are in pre-school!!
