I'd still put my money on Madison closing at the beginning of May.The bad nqa and write ups started the 1st of March, that's 90 day before May 1st.May 1st is the beginning of the next financial quarter/half, whatever. Good time to shut down for tax purposes, etc.Anyone there UNDER 90 days won't get severance pay. If they get rid of as many tenured operators (and replace them with trainees) as possible before May 1st, less pay outs later.But that's just a theory. Guess we'll see.I wouldn't put it past Diane and Jake to have been promised other positions at the other Verizon center, in exchange for cooperating in getting rid of tenured ops.


Every company I've ever worked for operates from October to December, January to March, April to June, July to September.


Which would make sense if Chandler (?) is closing the end of this month.


I've also worked for companies where I was offered a position in the new company before the old "folded"....never had to do with any kind of deal like you're inferring....had to do with openings they had and my ability to fit one of the openings.


There will always be rumors.  There will always be speculation.

I like how they have three or four rules about the same thing, so they can write you up no matter what. Made your adherence goal for the month? Great! But you only made your adherence goal for x percent of your shifts last month, so you're getting a writeup anyway. And even though this is the first time that's happened, we're going to jump right to a written warning because we feel like it.



WTF ever. It's not like there's a dearth of jobs paying $10 an hour.

Just so everybody knows, the Chandler center is closed and has been closed since the beginning of this month. I must say it was among one of the best days of my life. Very happy day, March 7th was. I thought everyone should know that though so people stop saying at the end of this month. It might still be open but there is no relaying going on there.

New here...what a fantastic forum for we tortured operators!  What a business this is! I am beyond burned out already and like a lot of you..ready to move on!


I am sick of the GAGA's, the dailing, the idiots who sound way too old to be typing in the same room so their friends can hear us say fuck and cock and all that shit. I am sick of the idiots that keep our fraud calls continuing. I swear, the lop's are told to copy down the numbers on the Contol-Home and then the company doesn't do a damn thing about it.


I am sick of attitude from callers...the most recent for me being "NO OPERATOR WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU QQ ARE YOU STUPID OR WHAT?"  (fuck you)  I am sick of only hearing about the occurance changes (how there is no more 1/4 occurance, just 1/2 and up) only thru RUMOR and not thru a memo or meeting.  I am sick of being watched like a hawk during my shift to make sure I'm not talking during calls, writing something on a piece of paper, making sure my feet are..God forbid, not on my desk or anywhere but flat on the floor.  I'm ready to get canned the next time I frickin' sneeze for God's sake.


This job has tainted my feelings for the general public in such a way that it really makes me feel like shit. I am a nice person and this job has thrown such a wrench in my views on not only foreign people, but deaf people as well. And especially it has made me realize how many IDIOTS there are in this world.


Whew. I feel a little better. I know of at least 20 people at the center who are continually looking for other jobs..some have succeeded already. I wish anyone who gets out of this business of relay the best of luck and I know that they will be so much happier with ANY new job regardless of change in pay!
