I have decided to take on a scammer myself.  It's a female that has been trying very, very hard to get money out of one of my victims.  A victim that I warned myself.  This victim has agreed that I  will take over all communication with her via email and instant messenger.  Anyone have any hints on this?  I've never done baiting before...... I just have to impersonate this guy and get as much info out of her as I can to turn into authorities.  He's already gotten her name, number,  and physical address.  I guess part of me just wants to see how far these scammers will actually go.  I want to play with her a little too.... see if she'll take the bait.  I've got enough to send on to authorities... so what I do now will be mostly for my own education.  Nothing like seeing it for yourself!

I assume since your familiar with the term ScamBaiting, that you are familiar with 419eater.com.

I would recommend signing up on the forums there, and requesting a mentor. Read all the posts, it is unbelievable what a ScamBaiter will do. Also the owner of the website Shiver Metimbers just published a great book highlighting his favorite baits (he has had the mugus do hand carvings, hand write the entire Harry Potter book, getting themselves tattooed, send in paintings, there is no limits what Shiver can get a mugu to do)

If your bored, you might want to check out my published bait:

BeatlesBait

And, if you have yourself a romance scammer, it will be quite difficult to get any info out of them

I second that. Another good baiting site (although it is not as big as eater is) is www.scambaits.com

My Romance scammer didn't go too far.  Once she was offered only about a quarter of the money she requested, she stopped speaking to him.  Of course, this was after she gave him (me) every story under the sun of why she needed ALL the money.  Pretty funny.  She did give a phone number and address to the guy.  I've turned all info over to the people at Fraud Aid.

Hi Shamfien.... I got your email, and I replied..... but I haven't been an opr for almost 8 months.  I've forgotten the phrases opr's use to describe relay in case the person you're calling says that they are not familiar with relay.  if anyone knows the phrase, PM Shamfien with it please?  Operatorhere

Scambaiting takes some time. Some of them are very experienced and won't bite. It takes time to find a suitable lad and to learn the baiting tactics but the foks on the aforementioned sites have excellent mentee programs by veteran baiters that will help you with the first steps.

I think any of the mentors (at least on 419eater) will say, at least mine did, that romance scammers are difficult to bait, as they won't go off script. Lotto scammers are equally hard
