I just found out from one of our supervisors just how much CSD values and appreciates its oprs. We all know they don't give a flying fuck about us, but to stoop this low just really pisses me off. And I could almost see the steam radiating from my supervisor cause she was so pissed about this as well. CSD puts out a newsletter for the deaf community. I think all the centers get a copy of it as well. Well, they've decided to add a section to the newsletter for the sole purpose of making fun of the oprs who process their fucking calls. They have what they call a "bloopers" section where they post opr typos. I really fail to see the humor in that. So by their standards it's ok for us to make fun of them and make public all of their typos as well I guess. Of course, they'd all have a shit fit if we ever did that. Oh woooooooow. Makes me want to post every typo deafies make. IT'S REDIAL not REDAIL!!! It's PEPPERONI!!!!! UNDY is something you wear under your pants! REMMY isn't a word! ........and I could list about 5 million more that deafies cannot spell on a daily basis. That is downright insulting. At least when an opr makes a typo, its just that, a TYPO. CSD has a lot of nerve pointing that out to people who don't KNOW how to spell in the first place. That is a bullshit double standard. Of course, you can't reason with them. Don't you know, us hearing folks are the "stupid" ones. At least I can order a pizza and navigate a menu. They've got a lot of nerve making fun of the people, whom without, they would not be able to communicate over the phone. Its high time "deaf culture" got a fat slap on the face. Its is the definition of ignorance and elitism, and it purposefully makes the lives of deaf people smaller and segregated. And they wonder why they can't get/keep jobs? They act like deafness makes them better, yet use it as an excuse when they want government money for doing nothing, or free services. If the deaf aren't disabled, take their SSI away, see how long they last without it. Thus ends my deaf rant for the time being.
