Good for u. There are a lot of us oprs who care about the scams and are disgusted by them.  Im one of those oprs who wld also call the person being scammed to warn them.  I was rewarded by being blocked from using the svc.  So now for some reason whenever I try to access the svc it has me blocked.  Now I don't know what to do or how to help.  I need to help myself by getting another job because it is so frustrating.

what do you carry qq - you said you were blocked from using the service. I take it that you were blocked from using IP Relay. Why don't you use Sprint or Hamilton's IP Relay? Just a suggestion.

Wait wait wait, you were blocked from using the service? How did that happen? I thought all call content was "confidential", so why would you be blocked?

They don't block any of the kids who call me night after night, over and over, no matter how abusive they are. They don't block the scammers themselves who call over and over, every day. Why would you be blocked????

Are you placing the calls via your home computer? Or computer at work? I've made a gazillion calls "afterwards" from home only, and have never run into this problem.

In 2005 when they started to actually try to surpress fraud, they said they were working with AOL for those that abuse AIM/aol to defraud people, and essentially blocking by IP address.    AOL uses rotating IP's so what a user has today won't likely be the same tomorrow, but it might match another person.      It's a short term solution that could end up blocking people who just happened to have that same IP address even if they weren't the one doing anything wrong.

I don't think they can block by usernames or anything, which would be SO great if they could.

What do you mean by "afterwards" calls.  Calling victims?  If so- we definetely need more operators like you.  I warned victims on my own time every day that I worked in Relay.  It helped assuage my guilt of assisting criminals in defrauding innocent people.  It was the only way I was able to stay at Relay for as long as I did.  I sincerely wish that EVERY operator would do that.  If operators aren't comfortable doing it themselves... you can always contact me and I will call the victims.  I've done that for many, many op's.

I may be your operator, but I am NOT your bitch!
