uh... ok- here's more for the story that sounds more like the lads I know:

The impoverished people of Africa's oil giant often tap into pipelines, seeking fuel for cooking or resale on the black market. The highly volatile petroleum can ignite, incinerating those collecting it.

In September 2004, an oil pipeline exploded near Lagos as thieves tried to siphon oil from it, with up to 50 people perishing in the flames. A 1998 pipeline blast killed over 1,000 in southern Nigeria.

Even though it doesn't have to do with Lagos, I meant ghana, being absent minded forgetting it's a country not a city. None the less it's full of thieves.

Bullshit! The large majority of people in Ghana (and all all other countries) consists of honest, hard-working individuals. That's like asking Western-Union to close down their services because it's being used intensely by the mugus.

did you guys know (or not know) that these countries (being that of Nigeria and Ghana) have this sort of "specialty" in scamming businesses and or people? let's take for example the article that was passed on to us by our trainer. Ghananians are only "tasked" to scam people who are looking for PenPals over the internet, whilst Nigerians are "tasked" to scam businesses, thus the variety of fraud types (e.g puppies for sell qq funeral parlors etc.). i don't know but, it seems to me that whatever they were tasked to do, fraud is still fraud whatever type or method they were using. they actually have internet cafes (usually in suburbs) that acts as their "fraud call centers" and amazingly, the fraudsters are between the ages of 12 to 15.
