Lately our center has been getting this call, asks for the parts dept, and then asks for a Cummins and Detroit part. The calls are becoming disconnected right away. Has anyone processed this call? What is the scam behind it?

I get a lot of "caterpillar and cummins parts" and most of the time the term says "no sorry we don't deal those kinds of parts"

That's been a long time scam at my center. They rattle off several long winded part numbers, by which time the rep has either hung up or put it on hold for an indefinite period of time
