This one here is the best one that I've seen so far. It's not a scientific article but a very comprehensive one about advance fee fraud in general. The author was/is a nigeria based journo for the financial times. He covers all necessary sources. It's a few dozen pages or so but very, very interesting, fairly easy to read and well researched. Go and get it!
