so, I got the axe from verizon today, gotta love that zero tolerance. Conviniently at the end of a pay period might I add. Id appreciate any new job advice from those of you in Madison, I know at least a few of you must have also left under less than voluntary circumstances. Im trying the old standbys of course, US Cellular, Captel, state relay, etc. but im open to ideas. More importantly, how many of you have admitted to being fired? I know verizon wont disclose whether I quit or was fired, but I dont want to take chances. Also, what are your experiences with collecting unemployment? Ive never been fired before so this is all new to me.

I know a couple of people who got hired at bank call centers in town, and for the most part, they like it. It pays better. Other than that, the standbys you mentioned are decent options. US Cellular pays the best out of all of them. I wouldn't recommend Sitel, from what I've heard anyway. But that's there too.


I can tell you that you'll be limited if A. You interview poorly or B. You can't pass a drug test.


(I think a lot of people at Verizon have problems with letter B)

well good luck and you're finally free of all the bs.  lol  i know that american girl is hiring seasonal for call center in middle.  i'm pretty sure they start at 12.50 my friend started there as seasonal 1 year ago and is still working there so if u like it i'm pretty sure they'll hire u on afterwards.  if i hear anymore hiring i'll post it up.
