Having actually read some articles from being bored at home and wondering how these fraudsters work on these funeral homes, I've kinda figured out what goes on.
They're supposedly sending the "dead father" to the US, in order to do this a payment has to be made.. I'm not exactly sure, but the general idea is the funeral home wires money to the theoretical mortuary in Nigeria, and then they get refunded the money via credit card from the fraudsters. Of course, this mortuary does not exist and is actually the bank acct of the fraudster.
I totally agree with your last statement relaytimer9-6.. it's a shame for the really polite individual's who have amazing patience and deals with this.

heres how the funeral home scam works!!... the scammer always has a dead father and or mother killed in nigeria while there for a business meeting, the "son" calls the funeral home wants dad's dead body shipped to the state for burial.. wants his credit card run immediately for the total cost and "shipping charges" scammer then gives the funeral home director the number to the nigerian "mortuary" so that they can wire transfer the shipping charges to them to ship the carcus home... as in most scams they always want the shipping charges wire transferred to their shipper, which of course there is no shipper they just want to go to western union to pick up the money wired to them how many times a day do you call western union?? here's a tip when doing so.. they always want to speak to a live rep at western union so if you listen to the prompts you push 4 then 5 but if you push 5 then 4 which i do it sends you to the fraud department and you get a live rep in the fraud department, they normally ask for the phone number thats on the wire transfer so that they can call them back and the line is usually disconnected

You know, of all the fraud calls I place, it seems like funeral home directors almost never fall for it. Maybe its just luck of the draw, but several directors have mentioned that they got a fax syaing that these kinds of calls were bull and then they either tell them to call back using state relay or have the Nigerian mortuary call them directly without a relay service. Like I said maybe I just happened to get the calls to the well-informed funeral homes, but it seems like they have it together more than most businesses or private sellers.

Yeah, but however, funeral homes in general are not as widespread as other businesses. I mean how many funeral homes are there compared to pharmacies? But yeah, I'm glad funeral directors really have a lock on this. Even if they don't, these scams are really really easy to meet criteria.
